The Abu Dhabi Police General Command, as part of its "Safe Summer" awareness campaign, has called on members of the public to take the necessary precautionary measures to protect their homes and property before travelling, in order to strengthen preventive security, safeguard lives and property, and entrench quality of life within the community.

Abu Dhabi Police stressed that securing one's home before leaving is among the most important steps in reducing risks. They highlighted the importance of ensuring doors and windows are firmly locked, activating security systems and surveillance cameras where available, disconnecting non-essential electrical appliances, storing valuables in safe places, and making certain that water and gas supplies are shut off before departure to prevent fires.

The police also urged the public to avoid announcing travel plans or the duration of their absence on social media, as such information could be exploited by ill-intentioned individuals. They recommended enlisting a relative or trusted person to check on the home when needed, in order to enhance the level of protection and give homeowners peace of mind during their time away.

Abu Dhabi Police affirmed that the "Safe Summer" campaign forms part of their ongoing efforts to promote preventive awareness and spread a culture of safety and security among members of the community. They called on everyone to adhere to preventive guidelines, cooperate with security authorities, and report any suspicious situations or behaviour through official channels, thereby contributing to the preservation of community security and the safety of property.
