Dr. Abdullah Busnaina, Director General of Dubai Customs, has affirmed that the Dubai Customs Strategy 2026–2030 is aligned with the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, which aim to reinforce Dubai's economic leadership, elevate government services, enable trade, and bolster the emirate's standing on global competitiveness indices.
He said: "This strategy reflects a clear strategic transformation in the role of Dubai Customs, positioning it as an active partner in achieving economic growth, an enabler of trade, and a key supporter of the journey of sustainable economic development in the United Arab Emirates — supporting the growth of national companies, traders, and investors in alignment with the targets of the Dubai Economic Agenda, the We the UAE 2031 vision, the UAE Centennial 2071, the Dubai Industrial Strategy, Dubai E-Commerce, and the National Agenda for the development of the re-export sector, while enhancing Dubai's presence among the most competitive and influential trade centres in the world."
He added: "Building on the vision of our wise leadership, we will continue to consolidate Dubai's position among the most advanced and innovative cities through the adoption of global best practices, the deployment of advanced technologies, and the building of strategic partnerships." He emphasised that the success of Dubai Customs in the coming phase will be measured not only by what it protects at the borders, but by the economic opportunities it enables, the trade it facilitates, the partnerships it builds, and the value it adds to Dubai's economy — noting that when customs becomes an economic enabler, trade becomes faster, investment becomes more confident, and growth becomes more sustainable.
He added: "We are not merely launching a plan for the coming years; we are charting a new course that redefines the role of Dubai Customs in the economy, making it a global model for smart customs management and an essential partner in enabling trade, enhancing economic competitiveness, and supporting the sustainability of supply chains — cementing Dubai's standing as a global gateway for trade and a key hub for connecting markets and supply chains."
