Gargash said in a post on X: "In the call received by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed from the Iranian Foreign Minister, the UAE's position was embodied with full clarity and transparency, reflecting the country's active presence and influential weight in regional security and stability equations."
He added: "The call for diplomacy and dialogue is coupled with a firm and resolute political stance that stresses the necessity of an immediate cessation of hostilities, respect for state sovereignty and good neighbourliness, strict adherence to international law, and ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz."
He concluded: "Yes to diplomacy and dialogue, within firm principles that safeguard the security and stability of the Arabian Gulf for decades to come."
