Media professionals, content creators, and academics have affirmed that media content must embody "conscious boldness" — a professional approach grounded in balancing transparency with responsibility, which requires familiarity with multiple dimensions that must be considered before publishing any content.
They explained that this boldness demands a commitment to credibility, addressing important issues with objectivity and responsibility, the ability to read shifting variables and absorb different contexts, and a thorough knowledge of the regulations and policies governing media work. It also requires sufficient awareness to determine the right timing and most appropriate platform for presenting content, ensuring the message reaches the target audience with a positive impact without harming the public interest.
Media professional Ammar Al Rahma explained that the concept of "conscious boldness" rests on the content creator's understanding of what they are presenting, the platform through which they are publishing, and the audience they are addressing. He stressed that every platform has its own audience and every segment has its own language, and therefore messages must be delivered in a style the recipient understands, free from complexity or inappropriate vocabulary.
He noted that awareness is not limited to choosing a topic, but also encompasses the timing of raising it, the manner in which it is presented, and the tone of discourse used. He pointed out that conveying facts does not mean stirring fear or anxiety, but rather presenting them responsibly in a way that is mindful of the impact words have on public opinion.
Content creator Fahad Al Hammadi, a graduate of the Political Content Creation programme at the Dubai Media Academy, said that boldness represents the "currency" of content creation on social media platforms, but it must be conscious boldness that stems from clear professional guidelines.
He explained that the programme provided him with an understanding of regulations and policies, the mechanisms for building a media narrative, and how to employ his comedic style to deliver messages in an engaging way without compromising professionalism or overstepping boundaries.
He added that a content creator can address current issues in an innovative style that captures the audience's attention while maintaining accuracy of information and presenting the national narrative responsibly. He noted that attracting attention does not mean resorting to sensational or inappropriate content, but rather relies on creativity in presentation and choosing the right approach to convey the message.
Ismail Al Hammadi, a content creator, believes that boldness in content presentation does not mean rushing to publish or chasing trends, but rather begins with verifying the credibility of a piece of news or an image, studying the appropriate timing for publication, and understanding the dimensions and effects that the content may have on the audience — particularly given the speed at which information spreads across digital platforms.
He explained that a content creator is required to evaluate an event from all its aspects before publishing it, and to avoid being swept along by the pursuit of a scoop at the expense of credibility. He noted that true intelligence lies in capitalising on an event and presenting the correct narrative without jeopardising the reputation or trust built with one's audience.
