Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Academy for Police Sciences, yesterday chaired the Academy's board meeting, held at its headquarters in the University City.

The board extended its thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for approving the promotion of a number of military personnel across the emirate's uniformed bodies, including officers, non-commissioned officers, and individuals. The board congratulated all those included in the promotions to their new ranks and wished them success in carrying out their national duties, expressing hope that the promotions would strengthen the trajectory of security and institutional work and service to society.

During the meeting, a number of items on the agenda were discussed, relating to plans for developing academic programmes, monitoring academic work, and reviewing the measures, decisions, and recommendations implemented during the previous period, with a view to enhancing institutional performance efficiency and supporting the academy's journey of continuous development.

The board approved opening admission and registration for the 28th intake of student officers, and was briefed on the approved procedures and criteria for attracting students, in line with the academy's objectives of preparing a generation of security leaders who are academically and professionally qualified and capable of contributing to the reinforcement of the security and stability system and serving the nation with efficiency and competence.

The board also reviewed files related to higher education quality accreditations, and was briefed on the achievements and developmental steps that have been made, which strengthen the academy's standing and support its efforts to attain the highest standards of quality and excellence in police education and training. In addition, the board discussed updates on the confirmation of leadership positions and reviewed the efforts being made to support institutional stability and the sustainability of administrative and leadership development at the academy, enhance the quality of its educational and training outputs, and provide police and security agencies with national competencies possessing knowledge, experience, and readiness.

The board also reviewed a number of advanced experiences and practices in the fields of police and security education and training, discussing ways to benefit from and employ them in developing academic and training programmes, in keeping with best global practices and contributing to raising the scientific and professional outputs of the academy.
