Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Central Finance Department of Sharjah, attended the ceremony yesterday at which the Statistics and Community Development Department announced the results of the Sharjah Census 2025, held at the Jawaher Convention and Events Centre.

The results of the Sharjah Census 2025 showed a 51% increase in the emirate's population over the last decade, from 2015 to 2025.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Statistics and Community Development Department, delivered a speech in which he expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for his inspiring vision that has placed people at the heart of sustainable development in the emirate.

He announced that the population of the Emirate of Sharjah has reached 2,135,888, closing his remarks by thanking all federal and local entities that contributed to the completion and success of the Sharjah Census 2025.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi and attendees witnessed a panel discussion featuring Abdullah Al Kudaid Al Muharrizi, Director of the Statistics Department at the Statistics and Community Development Department, and Ruqayyah Ali Al Mansouri, Head of the Community Statistics Section at the Statistics and Community Development Department, moderated by Badr Al Shammari. The session addressed the key findings of the Sharjah Census 2025 and their implications for development, economic growth, and decision-making in the emirate.

Among the population growth indicators, males numbered 1.4 million, accounting for 67% of the total, while females in the emirate numbered 710,000, representing 33%. Non-citizen residents numbered 1.9 million, accounting for 89% of the population.
