Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said that the agreement signed with the Lebanese government is a historic and important accord, and that the Israeli army will honor it and work to ensure its success.

He stressed that the safety of Israeli forces is of paramount importance, according to Bloomberg news agency on Sunday.

Zamir added that the forces have operational control over the Beaufort Mountain Range area and are equipped with all the tools necessary to weaken the enemy.

Zamir noted that the Israeli army is on high alert to carry out strikes should the ceasefire be violated.

It is worth noting that Israel and Lebanon reached a framework agreement aimed at ending the conflict.
