The Lebanese army warned on Saturday against "moves with incalculable consequences" a day after protests by Hezbollah supporters in Beirut against a framework agreement signed by Lebanon and Israel under American auspices.

The army called in a statement on "citizens to act responsibly in light of calls for demonstrations and movements in the city of Beirut and other areas."

It stressed that "the army command will not allow any breach of security or harm to civil peace through ill-considered moves, road closures, or encroachments on public and private property."
