The overall toll of victims of Israeli attacks on Lebanon since 2 March has risen, as of Thursday, to 4,230 dead and 12,179 wounded.

The Health Emergency Operations Centre of the Ministry of Public Health announced in a statement that "the cumulative total toll of the aggression from 2 March until 25 June has reached 4,230 martyrs and 12,179 wounded."

Israel has been waging war on Lebanon since 2 March, following Hezbollah's firing of rockets at northern Israel. Israeli forces have occupied a number of towns in southern Lebanon.

Israeli air strikes continued to target vast areas of southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, following the first ceasefire announcement between Lebanon and Israel on 16 April, its subsequent extension on 23 April for 3 weeks, and a further extension on 15 May for 45 days.

A ceasefire agreed to by Israel was announced on the evening of last Saturday, and no Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon have been recorded since Saturday evening.
