Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al Zaydi confirmed yesterday that the government is pressing ahead with pursuing corruption files without exceptions, vowing to hold accountable those implicated among the major figures of corruption.

During a visit to the Ministry of Interior, he affirmed that the government is continuing to take the necessary measures to pursue corrupt individuals and restore citizens' rights, stressing that the Ministry of Interior represents "the government's hand" in confronting corruption and protecting state institutions from violations.

He confirmed that the authorities will not be lenient with any person proven to be involved in corruption cases, regardless of their affiliation, in a reference to the continuation of the government campaign aimed at strengthening integrity and holding those of influence who are implicated to account.
