Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falah Al-Zaidi renewed on Saturday his government's commitment to pursuing corrupt individuals and showing no leniency toward them, in order to restore the rights of Iraqi citizens.

Al-Zaidi said, in remarks made during a visit to the Ministry of Interior headquarters, that "the Ministry of Interior is the government's arm in combating corruption," according to a statement from the Iraqi government.

He stressed "zero tolerance for any corrupt person regardless of their affiliation," calling on the Integrity Commission, the Board of Supreme Audit, and the security forces to follow up on the anti-corruption file, which he said has become a popular demand.

He also praised the stances of all political forces and tribal sheikhs who are supporting the government in its campaign against corruption.
