The US military announced on Monday that it had launched further strikes against Iran as the confrontation over the Strait of Hormuz intensified.
US Central Command confirmed that the aim of the strikes was to undermine Iran's ability to attack civilian sailors and commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Reuters, citing Iran's official television, confirmed that multiple explosions were heard on Qeshm Island and in the cities of Jask, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.
