His Excellency Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, condemned in the strongest terms the aggressive Iranian attacks targeting Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with missiles and drones, stressing that these aggressive attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Arab states, a grave breach of the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, and an extremely dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region and undermines regional and international efforts aimed at containing tensions and enhancing regional security and peace.
Al Yamahi affirmed, in a statement issued today, the Arab Parliament's full and unwavering solidarity with these countries, and its absolute support for all measures they are taking to preserve their national security, protect their sovereignty, and safeguard their citizens and residents on their soil. He stressed that any violation of the security, sovereignty, or territorial integrity of any Arab state represents a direct threat to the entire Arab national security system and requires a firm and deterrent Arab and international stance.
The President of the Arab Parliament called on the international community, foremost among them the UN Security Council and the United Nations, to fulfil their political, legal, and moral responsibilities and take urgent and decisive measures to halt these aggressive attacks, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure respect for the sovereignty of states and the unity and integrity of their territories, as well as full compliance with the provisions of international law and the UN Charter, in a manner that prevents the widening of the circle of escalation and preserves regional and international security and stability.
