Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed the full range of regional developments in a series of phone calls with the foreign ministers of a number of brotherly and friendly countries.
His Highness held telephone talks with Sheikh Jarah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwait's Foreign Minister; Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman; Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Foreign Minister; and Yvette Cooper, the United Kingdom's Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
The calls addressed the current situation in the Middle East and the efforts being made to achieve stability and lasting peace in the region.
During the two calls with the foreign ministers of Bahrain and Kuwait, His Highness expressed his strong condemnation of the renewed aggressive Iranian attacks that targeted both countries with missiles and drones.
He affirmed the UAE's full solidarity with Kuwait and Bahrain and its support for all measures conducive to preserving their security and stability, stressing that the security of Kuwait and Bahrain is an integral part of the security of the UAE and the Arab Gulf states.
A number of topics and issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the telephone talks.
His Highness also held a phone call with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar.
During the call, the full range of regional developments was reviewed, and both sides expressed their strong condemnation of the targeting of the Qatari tanker Al Rukayyat while it was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the continued aggressive Iranian attacks targeting commercial vessels in the strait — constituting a grave threat to the safety and security of international navigation and undermining the security and stability of one of the world's most vital waterways.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE's full solidarity with Qatar and its support for all measures Qatar takes to preserve its security and stability and protect its citizens and residents, stressing that the security of Qatar is an integral part of the security of the UAE and the Arab Gulf states.
Both sides also reviewed efforts being made to enhance the security and stability of the region during the phone call.
The UAE condemned, in the strongest terms, the renewed aggressive Iranian attacks that targeted Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles and drones. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a communiqué that these aggressive attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Bahrain and Kuwait and a threat to their security and stability.
The Ministry renewed the UAE's full solidarity with the two brotherly countries and its support for all measures conducive to preserving their security and stability.
The UAE also condemned, in the strongest terms, the aggressive Iranian attack that targeted Jordan with missiles.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a communiqué that this aggressive attack constitutes a flagrant violation of Jordan's sovereignty and a threat to its security and stability. The Ministry expressed the UAE's full solidarity with Jordan and its support for all measures conducive to preserving its security and stability.
