The Muslim Council of Elders has condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist plots that were foiled in the sisterly Kingdom of Morocco, which had been aimed at seriously undermining public order and the security of persons and property, with logistical coordination and operational support from the Sahel branch of the Daesh terrorist organisation.
The Council, in a statement issued today, affirmed its categorical rejection and strong denunciation of these criminal terrorist plots, which contradict the teachings of Islam and universal human and moral values, and represent a grave threat to the security and stability of societies, as well as a sinful attempt to spread chaos, sow terror, and frighten innocent people.
The Council renewed its firm and steadfast position rejecting all forms of terrorism, extremism, hate speech, and violence, stressing the need to redouble regional and international efforts and strengthen mechanisms for joint cooperation and coordination to confront these terrorist organisations and dry up their sources of funding and support.
The Muslim Council of Elders expressed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco and its support for all measures and steps Morocco is taking to protect its security and stability and safeguard its national achievements.
