Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has stressed the importance of full adherence to the terms of the agreement signed between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a manner that guarantees an immediate and comprehensive halt to aggressive acts in the region, respect for states' sovereignty and the principles of good neighbourliness, and the protection of maritime passages and freedom of international navigation, including ensuring the free flow of movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the call, the two sides discussed the overall situation in the region and the latest regional developments and updates, following the conclusion and signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In this regard, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed during the call the importance of full adherence to the terms of the agreement in a manner that guarantees an immediate and comprehensive halt to aggressive acts in the region, respect for states' sovereignty and the principles of good neighbourliness, strict compliance with international law, and the protection of maritime passages and freedom of international navigation, including ensuring the free flow of movement through the Strait of Hormuz. He expressed his hope that the ongoing negotiations would lead to positive outcomes that bring about lasting security and stability in the region.
His Highness noted that sincere diplomacy and responsible dialogue are the optimal means of addressing all regional and international crises, in a way that fulfils peoples' aspirations for prosperity and development.
