Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has affirmed that the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran does not address the issue of Iranian ballistic missiles, explaining that missiles were not mentioned in the memorandum because they were never on the table, and expressing hope that it would lead to peace across the entire region.

The prime minister rejected double standards on this issue, saying it was unreasonable for some countries to possess ballistic missiles while Iran was barred from having them, and that those countries could not hold such weapons without that being an equal right for Iran.

He warned that there were countries and sabotaging parties seeking to obstruct the agreement and derail the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran. In a message to the Iranian Supreme Leader, he noted that Iran had achieved a ceasefire and a memorandum of understanding while preserving its dignity.

The Pakistani prime minister observed that the progress achieved would not have been possible without the support of a number of countries in the region, praising the role of their leaders in reaching peace and warning that war could have destroyed everything.

He affirmed his country's desire to continue its role until a lasting peace is achieved.
