The celebration was more than a closing ceremony for a scouting year — it was a moment to honour one of the most inspiring human experiences in voluntary work. Over 11 years, the Shabab Al Tahaddi (Challenge Youth) troop, affiliated with the Al Dhaid Centre branch of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, has proven that determination can make a lasting impact, and that the scouting movement is a genuine space for empowerment, inclusion, and character building.
In this spirit, the Sharjah Scouts Commission, in cooperation with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, celebrated the closing of the scouting year for the Shabab Al Tahaddi troop. The ceremony embodied the fruits of an institutional partnership that has successfully transformed scouting into a platform that promotes the participation of people with disabilities in community life, opening broader horizons for their contribution and leadership.
The celebration was attended by Nasser Obaid Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the Emirates Scouts Association Board and International Commissioner and Head of the Sharjah Scouts Commission; Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Commissioner and General Supervisor of Activities; Abdulmonem Al Duwairi, Director of the Al Dhaid Centre branch; and Commander Iman Al Qaydi, leader of the Shabab Al Tahaddi troop, along with a number of specialists and troop members.
In his address, the representative of the Sharjah Scouts Commission affirmed that the partnership with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services represents a successful model of institutional integration in empowering people of determination. He noted that the scouting programmes have contributed to developing members' skills and reinforcing values of belonging, teamwork, and responsibility — in line with the scouting movement's mission of preparing active and engaged members of society.
