Japanese scientists have begun clinical trials on a drug that has successfully passed its first phase of testing on volunteers, and which may allow humans to grow new teeth for the first time.
The drug is expected to reach the market in 2030. According to the company Toregem Biopharma, the drug is intended primarily for people who suffer from congenital tooth loss, but may also benefit those who have lost teeth due to trauma or tooth decay.
