The National Programme for Culture and Creativity Grants, which supports fields including authorship and publishing, music, film, performing and visual arts, video games, and heritage, paints a picture of a creative landscape that is steadily expanding and diversifying.
The programme reveals a cultural vision that places its bet on creativity as a space that brings together identity, knowledge, and new technologies. It establishes a sustainable creative environment by targeting capacity-building, skills development, and the strengthening of partnerships — making it far more than mere financial support, but rather a long-term investment in cultural and human capital.
A number of creatives told Al Bayan that the diversity of fields covered by the National Programme for Culture and Creativity Grants reflects the UAE's vision of building a creative, knowledge- and innovation-based economy. They noted that the programme helps project owners develop their work and bring it to more professional and impactful levels.
In this context, Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, affirmed that the grant categories reflect the UAE's vision that culture is a fundamental pillar for building a knowledge society and an effective bridge for civilisational dialogue between peoples.
