Farjan Dubai Foundation has released a new children's song titled "Hawi Dubai" on its digital platforms and official YouTube channel, in celebration of the Hawi Dubai project, which aims to revive the spirit of the traditional Emirati neighbourhood — the fareej — in a contemporary style that strengthens community bonds and brings people together in vibrant public spaces.
The song shines a spotlight on "Hawi Nad Al Sheba", the first phase of the Hawi Dubai project, which has been inaugurated as a community destination bringing together residents of the area for various events, activities, and social occasions, and fostering interaction among community members of all age groups.
The song's launch took place in a festive atmosphere at Hawi Nad Al Sheba, where ice cream was distributed to children, while adult visitors enjoyed Emirati coffee at the "Dukkan" and "Yalsa" areas, in a family setting that reflected the spirit of warmth, heritage, and connection that the project seeks to embed within the community.
Alya Al Shamlan, Director of Farjan Dubai Foundation, said the song's release comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen national identity and community values among children and families, noting that over the past 6 months the project has successfully established itself as a community destination that brings residents together and provides them with a space for communication and interaction.
She added: "Farjan Dubai Foundation works to activate the Hawi Dubai spaces by offering diverse community programmes and events targeting all age groups, contributing to bringing neighbours and families together in an environment that promotes communication and closeness among community members.
"Community cohesion is one of the most prominent values that Emirati families have been raised upon, and it is important that we continue to instil these values in the hearts of new generations through initiatives and activities that reflect the spirit of the authentic Emirati fareej."
Al Shamlan affirmed that the project aims to provide public spaces that meet the needs of families and host their gatherings, celebrations, and various occasions, saying: "We want Hawi Dubai to be a place that brings together young and old, and neighbours, in a comfortable atmosphere that enhances human connection and supports the social relationships that distinguish Dubai's community."
