Dubai's Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, is continuing through its 'Schools of Life' project to enrich the local cultural scene and empower community members to acquire new cultural and life skills within an innovative interactive learning environment.
The project, which falls under the umbrella of Dubai's Quality of Life strategy, will present a diverse programme in July comprising 23 workshops and creative sessions aimed at children, families, and adults. These sessions offer participants the opportunity to explore a variety of fields including arts, handicrafts, languages, music, and nutrition, contributing to the development of their creative and life skills and reinforcing a culture of continuous learning. This aligns with the Authority's priorities and responsibilities, which aim to make culture accessible to all and to cement Dubai's standing as a global cultural hub, an incubator for creativity, and a meeting point for talent.
The 'Health and Nutrition Club' programme will offer a series of interactive workshops combining learning with hands-on experience, including a 'Summer Cocktail' workshop to be organised by Mami Yami at Hatta Public Library.
As part of the 'Art Club' activities, Dubai's public libraries will host a selection of workshops inspired by traditional crafts and contemporary arts, with Al Mankhool Public Library hosting a 'Flame Soap' workshop.
A 'Clay Cup Coasters' workshop, to be presented by Ting Miras at Al Rashidiya Library, will allow participants to create functional art pieces using clay.
The Safa Library for Arts and Design programme will celebrate the diversity of global and local artistic experiences through a range of creative workshops, including a session on the Japanese art of 'Kinosiga' supervised by Abeer Al Aidani.
Umm Suqeim Library will host a 'Learning with the Senses: The Flame Tree' workshop to be presented by Ventura, employing sensory play and the Montessori method to develop children's exploration and self-learning skills.
