The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation is participating in the 32nd Beijing International Book Fair 2026, held in the Chinese capital Beijing, within the UAE's "UAE House" pavilion, as part of its efforts to strengthen its international presence and expand its knowledge and cultural partnerships with global institutions.
The participation in one of the world's largest book fairs and Asia's most prominent publishing industry platforms is in keeping with the Foundation's direction of supporting the production and dissemination of knowledge and promoting cooperation with intellectual and cultural institutions at the international level.
Salem Al Owais, Director of the Knowledge Capital Department at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, said in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the Beijing International Book Fair 2026 that the Foundation is showcasing, through its participation in the "UAE House" events at the fair, a range of knowledge publications that reflect the richness of Arabic content and the UAE's experience in the knowledge industry, alongside introducing its pioneering initiatives in knowledge empowerment and innovation promotion.
He noted that the Foundation is looking to expand its partnerships with Chinese institutions in the fields of translation, publishing, and the exchange of expertise, stemming from its belief that knowledge represents the foundation of sustainable development and the industry of the future. He added that the fair constitutes an important platform for enhancing knowledge dialogue and exchanging experiences and best practices in the publishing and cultural industries sectors.
During its participation, the Foundation is spotlighting its latest knowledge initiatives and programmes, and is holding a series of bilateral meetings with Chinese and international publishing houses and cultural and academic institutions to explore opportunities for joint cooperation and develop knowledge projects that contribute to supporting translation and publishing movements and the exchange of cultural content.
The Beijing International Book Fair is one of the world's largest book fairs and Asia's most important publishing industry event, attracting publishers and cultural and academic institutions from countries around the world annually. The United Arab Emirates is the guest of honour at the 2026 edition, a step that reflects the depth of UAE-China cultural relations and the country's growing standing on the global map of culture and knowledge production.
