A study has found that scientists have identified an area of approximately 166,000 square kilometres of coral reefs capable of withstanding the consequences of climate change.

Coral reefs around the world, which support a quarter of all marine life, are under severe pressure from powerful tropical storms, pollution, and bleaching events. However, an analysis covering 45,000 reef surveys concluded that climate-resilient reefs exist in 71 countries and 100 regions.
