Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Dubai Taxi Company have completed the first phase of their partnership to establish exclusive charging points for Dubai Taxi's electric vehicle fleet.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, and Abdulmohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, Chairman of the Board of Dubai Taxi Group, inaugurated the station, which comprises 24 next-generation ultra-fast charging points with a capacity of up to 360 kilowatts each, located at Dubai Taxi's headquarters in Muhaisnah 4.
This step comes within the framework of a long-term strategic agreement aimed at establishing more than 200 ultra-fast charging points dedicated to Dubai Taxi's electric vehicle fleet, reinforcing the emirate's sustainable mobility infrastructure.
The first phase of the agreement includes the operation of an ultra-fast charging station capable of simultaneously charging 24 electric vehicles in approximately 35 minutes, contributing to reduced downtime, enhanced operational efficiency, and support for electric transport services across the emirate.
Al Tayer said: "We are committed to strengthening our strategic partnerships to accelerate the shift towards a more sustainable and efficient mobility ecosystem, in support of Dubai's vision to be the best city to live, work, and visit, and the most future-ready."
"In line with the objectives of the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Dubai Carbon Neutrality Strategy 2050, we continue to develop advanced electric vehicle charging infrastructure that provides a seamless and reliable charging experience, reduces carbon emissions, and improves air quality — keeping pace with the rapid growth in electric vehicle adoption in the emirate and cementing Dubai's status as a global model of sustainability and innovation."
Al Tayer added: "This partnership aligns with our efforts to support the transition to environmentally friendly transportation and to promote integration between the energy and sustainable transport sectors.
We value Dubai Taxi's direction towards expanding its electric vehicle fleet, which contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the transport sector."
For his part, Abdulmohsen Ibrahim said: "Strategic partnerships are a fundamental pillar of Dubai Taxi's growth journey and play a pivotal role in advancing our long-term vision.
We are delighted to witness the fruits of our partnership with DEWA, which we signed during WETEX 2025, supporting the company's sustainability pillar and reinforcing our commitment to driving innovation in the mobility sector.
This collaboration reflects our shared ambition to develop the infrastructure needed to support Dubai's vision for a smart and environmentally friendly mobility future, while delivering lasting sustainable value to our community, stakeholders, and the broader mobility ecosystem."
Mansour Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Group, said: "Dubai continues to consolidate its leadership in the future of sustainable mobility, advancing the sector's innovation journey.
This collaboration with DEWA marks an important milestone in Dubai Taxi's journey, as we work together to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and build the infrastructure needed to support this vision."
Al Falasi added: "The ultra-fast charging station represents the first phase of a network comprising more than 200 electric vehicle charging points, dedicated entirely to Dubai Taxi's fleet.
As this network expands, our capacity to enhance fleet efficiency, increase vehicle readiness, and meet the growing demand for reliable, zero-emission transport services will grow — in line with our commitment to supporting Dubai's ambitions and delivering sustainable value for our customers, partners, and society as a whole."
