Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the provision of 46 electric vehicle charging points in the parking facilities of the Al Shuraa building, its new headquarters, as part of the Green Charger initiative. The points include 40 AC charging points designated for DEWA employees, in addition to 6 DC charging points reserved for official visitors.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said: "We have ensured that the Al Shuraa building embodies the best global practices in sustainability — not only as a positive-energy building that produces more clean energy than it consumes and provides a smart, sustainable work environment that places people at its centre, but also by offering an integrated infrastructure that supports green mobility, including electric vehicle charging points that encourage employees and visitors to adopt environmentally friendly transport options."

His Excellency Al Tayer added: "In line with the vision of our wise leadership, we continue to reinforce Dubai's pioneering role in sustainable mobility and to encourage the use of electric vehicles in harmony with the UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategy and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030."

"We are also contributing to the emirate's efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the transport sector, improve air quality and enhance quality of life, thereby cementing Dubai's status as a global model for sustainable cities."
