Airbus has set an internal target to deliver more than 900 aircraft this year for the first time in its history, even as it maintains its official guidance of 870 aircraft, according to informed sources cited by Reuters.
The sources said the company delivered 89 aircraft in June, bringing total deliveries in the first half of the current year to 351 aircraft, a 15% increase compared with the same period last year and the strongest first-half performance since 2019. They added that the rise reflects an acceleration in the delivery of delayed aircraft to China, alongside an improvement in engine supplies, which has helped the company reduce the impact of supply chain disruptions.
