Revenues from China's software and information technology services industry rose during the first five months of 2026. Official data released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as reported by the Xinhua News Agency, showed that total revenues from the software and IT services industry climbed to 6.25 trillion yuan (approximately $917.2 billion) between January and May, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%, while total industry profits rose 2.2% year-on-year to 717.3 billion yuan.
During the same period, the industry's exports reached $27.65 billion, recording double-digit growth of 12.8%. Revenues from the IT services sector grew 11.3% to approximately 4.28 trillion yuan during the first five months of the year, accounting for 68.5% of the industry's total combined revenues.
Combined revenues from cloud computing and big data services jumped 12.1% year-on-year to 703.2 billion yuan during the same period, while revenues from integrated circuit design services posted notable growth of 19.2% year-on-year to reach 175.9 billion yuan.
