The global online trading platform Capital.com has activated an add-on feature called the Model Context Protocol server, which grants customers access to the platform from within whichever AI assistant environment they choose.
The add-on will function as a free, open-source tool that connects a trader's Capital.com account directly to an AI assistant on their device. Through compatibility with tools including Codex, the Claude desktop app, and Cursor, the integration adds live market data, available trades, portfolio exposure, historical prices, and aggregated client positions to the research environment the client is already working in, eliminating the need to switch between platforms between the analysis and execution stages.
Clients can thus execute trades directly from within the AI assistant, with all orders passing through a mandatory two-step preview-and-confirmation sequence before execution. Having that context available in one place supports more carefully considered decision-making, particularly when time pressure limits the scope of review available before acting.
The server operates as a local tool on the client's own device.
Capital.com does not control the AI environments compatible with the tool, so clients must review the data and privacy terms of any AI assistant they choose to use.
The server neither makes nor suggests trading decisions; all trading decisions remain solely with the client. The tool does not alter or eliminate the risks associated with trading contracts for difference (CFDs). Clients can test all server functions in a demo environment before connecting it to a live account.
