Oil prices rose by more than $2 a barrel in early Asian trading after Israel launched strikes around Beirut on Sunday for the first time since the United States announced a ceasefire plan for Lebanon.

US crude oil futures rose $2.57 to reach $93.11 a barrel by 22:15 GMT, while Brent crude futures rose $2.67 to $95.76 a barrel.
