Dubai Summer Surprises continues to cement its status as one of the emirate's most prominent economic and entertainment seasons, having evolved from a seasonal event into a key driver for the retail, tourism and hospitality sectors. It does so through an integrated programme combining major discounts, promotional offers, arts and entertainment events, and draws for valuable prizes.

The current season is seeing growing interest from residents and visitors alike, with increased footfall at shopping centres and consumers taking advantage of exceptional offers spanning multiple sectors — from fashion and electronics to restaurants and entertainment. The varied events are reinforcing Dubai's appeal as a comprehensive summer destination that blends shopping with family experiences.

The season's activities have also had a positive impact on the tourism sector, with visitor numbers growing and demand for hotels and hospitality facilities rising, driven by a packed programme that caters to a wide range of interests and gives families and tourists broad options combining entertainment, shopping and substantial discounts.

Visitors to the season confirmed that the diversity of events and the strength of promotional offers have made Dubai Summer Surprises an annual opportunity to enjoy varied experiences and purchase products at competitive prices. Organisers, for their part, say that marketing campaigns and major prize draws have helped support market activity and boost economic performance during the summer period.

Abdullah Al Ameri, Assistant Vice President for Draws and Promotions at the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said the season is witnessing notable growth in tourist and commercial activity. He explained that field indicators reflect a clear increase in the number of shoppers and visitors, as evidenced by the strong turnout at shopping centres, which provide daily statistics on visitor numbers.

He added that promotional campaigns, draws and major prizes have helped incentivise consumers to shop, noting that a large segment of shoppers now prefer to defer purchases until discount seasons in order to benefit from offers and prize-winning opportunities — supporting the retail sector's performance and boosting economic activity in the emirate.

Emirati citizen Ahmed Al Zaroni, who is participating in the events, said that this year's Dubai Summer Surprises coincided with an atmosphere of excitement among football fans, pointing out that shopping centres provided dedicated areas to follow World Cup matches alongside cinema screenings — giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a comprehensive experience combining shopping, entertainment and match viewing.

He added that this atmosphere made shopping centres an ideal destination for families and young people, enabling them to follow matches in a comfortable and enthusiastic setting while also benefiting from the summer events and offers.

Karem Ali, one of the visitors to Dubai Summer, said he makes a point of taking advantage of Dubai Summer Surprises to purchase electronic devices and smartphones, given the competitive offers and prices that stores provide during the season.

He added that the varied discounts give consumers wide-ranging options, making this period the most suitable time to buy the latest releases at reasonable prices.

Farida Mohammed, another Dubai Summer Surprises visitor, said the season has become one of the most prominent annual events she makes sure to benefit from every year, owing to the large discounts and diverse shopping opportunities it offers. She confirmed that discounts ranging from 50 to 70 per cent — and reaching as high as 90 per cent in some stores — represent an ideal opportunity to purchase clothing and all the essentials she needs at competitive prices, while also enjoying the entertainment atmosphere accompanying the festival.

Shirin Adel, also attending the events, explained that what distinguishes Dubai Summer Surprises most is the variety of activities catering to the interests of all family members. She noted that the presence of children's events alongside cooking shows, music, and shopping makes the festival a comprehensive experience that gives visitors fond memories throughout the summer season.

Shirin added that the sporting events accompanying the occasion are among its most notable attractions for her, given her interest in sport and a healthy lifestyle.

Dubai Summer Surprises 2026 is seeing the launch of a wide range of promotional offers and draws aimed at stimulating the retail sector and boosting spending, through discounts and opportunities to win prizes including residential units, cars, cash rewards and travel miles.

An instant electronics discount sale runs from 10 to 12 July, featuring offers on smart devices, electronics and home appliances.

The 'Win Your Home in Dubai' campaign, launched by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment in cooperation with Dubai Chambers, also offers the chance to win 12 residential units from Binghatti Developers upon spending 500 dirhams at participating shopping centres.
