Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), presided over the inauguration of the official headquarters and first manufacturing facility of Kerno Enterprises at Dubai Silicon Oasis, the knowledge and innovation-focused special economic zone operating under the DIEZ umbrella.
The inauguration was attended by H.E. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade; H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, CEO of DIEZ; Christopher Caswell, Co-Founder and CEO of Kerno Enterprises; and a number of officials from the public and private sectors along with company representatives.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum toured the new facility, where he reviewed advanced production lines and the assembly, testing and quality assurance stages, as well as a showcase of solutions being developed by the company in the fields of AI servers, high-performance computing, enterprise servers and storage systems.
His Highness was briefed on the Kerno Enterprises factory, which is the first of its kind for enterprise IT hardware in the United Arab Emirates, and on the company's contribution to reinforcing Dubai's position as a hub for advanced technology and knowledge-based manufacturing. The company designs, develops and manufactures secure technology solutions domestically, supporting national directives aimed at strengthening technological sovereignty, localising advanced industries, and developing digital infrastructure capable of meeting the demands of artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
Global destination
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum affirmed that Dubai continues, guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to cement its status as a global destination for technology companies and advanced industries, through an integrated business environment, world-class infrastructure and an economic ecosystem capable of attracting high-quality projects that create added value for the economy.
