Emirates SkyCargo has announced a strategic expansion of its freighter operations across East and Southeast Asia, increasing flight frequencies and broadening the scope of its services in response to growing demand to connect the region's emerging and established manufacturing hubs with key markets in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
Emirates SkyCargo carried more than 439,000 tonnes of cargo via dedicated freighter and passenger flights from 12 markets in East and Southeast Asia during financial year 2025–2026, a rise of approximately 5% compared with the previous financial year, reflecting sustained growth in demand from businesses and exporters in the region for fast and secure transport solutions to reach global markets.
Badr Abbas, Senior Vice President of Emirates Cargo, said that East and Southeast Asian markets represent one of the most important manufacturing centres in the global economy, playing a pivotal role in the production of advanced technology goods and the export of perishable products, as well as serving as a key launchpad for global e-commerce. "By increasing freighter flights and expanding our network of operations in response to customer needs, we continue to provide fast and reliable connectivity solutions that enable exporters to deliver their goods to global markets efficiently and securely," he said.
He added that Emirates SkyCargo offers wide options and flexibility through its freighter network serving 12 cities in the region, as well as through the substantial belly capacity available on passenger flights to Dubai and beyond from 25 destinations in East and Southeast Asia, with customers in the region benefiting weekly from more than 12,000 tonnes of dedicated cargo capacity across the network.
Emirates SkyCargo has doubled its dedicated cargo capacity to Tokyo's Narita Airport by increasing weekly frequencies from one flight to two, in support of Japan's key industrial sectors, including automotive, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.
The carrier has also raised its freighter flights to Hong Kong to 37 per week, providing greater flexibility and broader options for customers on one of the world's most important export-driven trade corridors.
The carrier has expanded its presence in central China by operating 3 weekly freighter flights from the city of Zhengzhou, connecting the industrial hub of Henan Province to Dubai and global markets.
Emirates SkyCargo has resumed freighter flights from Singapore at a frequency of one flight per week via Mumbai to Dubai, supporting one of Asia's most important trade routes.
The carrier also continues to operate one weekly freighter flight to Bangkok to support exports of technology products, consumer goods, and perishables, alongside 4 weekly freighter flights to Hanoi, giving exporters in Vietnam rapid access to Middle Eastern and other global markets.
In addition to its dedicated freighter network, Emirates SkyCargo leverages the substantial belly capacity available on Emirates airline's wide-body fleet to provide high-capacity, multi-option cargo solutions for businesses in East and Southeast Asia.
The carrier currently provides cargo capacity on more than 320 weekly passenger flights across the region.
Emirates SkyCargo is participating in Air Cargo China 2026, Asia's largest trade show specialising in air cargo and air logistics, which brings together the industry's leading companies and exporters. The show runs from 24 to 26 June 2026.
