Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, today announced the establishment of 'DEWA International' as an independent company wholly owned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), with the aim of developing conventional and clean energy projects around the world and transferring Dubai's successful model in energy and water infrastructure to global markets.

He said: "Thanks to the vision and guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, Dubai has become a global model of achievement and an accelerator of development, cementing its standing through advanced infrastructure — particularly in the energy and water sectors — that ranks among the best in the world."

He added: "The launch of 'DEWA International' is a strategic step to transfer this successful model to global markets and to strengthen Dubai's presence as a source of knowledge and expertise in the fields of energy, water, sustainability and digital transformation."
