DP World continues to cement its position as one of the most prominent players in the global logistics and ports sector, drawing on an operational performance that reflects high dynamism in managing its international network and its ability to adapt to the rapid shifts in global trade flows.
During the period between 2021 and 2025, the company recorded a clear upward trajectory in container throughput volumes, with total throughput reaching approximately 419.9 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) — a strong indication of the breadth of its operations and its growing pivotal role in connecting global markets and facilitating the flow of international trade.
Over this period, DP World achieved cumulative growth of approximately 19.9% and a compound annual growth rate of approximately 4.6% — a performance that reflects the robustness of the operational strategy adopted by the group, which is built on balanced geographical expansion, enhanced operational efficiency, and an accelerated pace of investment in digital solutions and smart technologies, strengthening its ability to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the global logistics sector.
A document issued by the company and obtained by Al Bayan shows that DP World handled approximately 77.9 million TEUs in 2021, at a time when global markets were still recovering from the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic.
With the arrival of 2022, this figure rose to 79 million TEUs, recording annual growth of 1.4%, signalling a gradual stabilisation in international trade flows.
The positive trajectory continued in 2023, with volumes rising to 81.3 million TEUs, achieving growth of 2.9% compared with 2022, driven by improved global demand for goods and the company's expansion into strategic markets.
The most significant shift came in 2024, when container volumes jumped to 88.3 million TEUs, recording strong annual growth of 8.6% — reflecting a clear phase of accelerated operational performance supported by a recovery in global trade and improved supply chains.
In 2025, the company continued to achieve record levels, with container throughput reaching approximately 93.4 million TEUs, annual growth of 5.8%, the highest level in its history, confirming the continuation of the upward momentum in its global operations.
This performance underscores that DP World is not merely keeping pace with global trade growth but is actively contributing to shaping it, through a flexible operational network and quality investments that give it an advanced capacity to weather economic fluctuations and seize opportunities in promising markets.
