The Fujairah Free Zone Authority has explored the prospects and opportunities for joint cooperation with China in areas of mutual economic and investment interest. This came during a visit by Ouabu Shian, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Dubai, to the Fujairah Free Zone Authority, aimed at strengthening the close bilateral relations between the two sides.
During the meeting between Sharif Habib Al Awadhi, Director General of the Fujairah Free Zone Authority, and the Chinese Consul General, the two sides reviewed the exceptional investment attributes of the Emirate of Fujairah, its advanced infrastructure, and the competitive services and facilities the free zone offers to investors and global companies — factors that make it a strategic business hub in the region.
Al Awadhi affirmed that the visit embodies the depth of the historic and close economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and the People's Republic of China, and reflects the shared desire to elevate levels of economic cooperation to broader horizons in a manner that serves mutual interests and advances the journey of sustainable development.
He said that the Fujairah Free Zone attaches great importance to its partnership with the Chinese business community, noting that Fujairah — by virtue of its strategic geographic location overlooking the Indian Ocean and its integrated logistics infrastructure — represents an ideal platform and a strategic choice for Chinese companies seeking to expand their business activities and commercial operations in the markets of the Middle East and Africa.
