Rosemary Thornton returned to life after her heart stopped for more than 10 minutes, to tell an almost unbelievable story about what happened to her and about her experience of what is scientifically known as an "out-of-body experience."
According to the British newspaper Mirror, after enduring severe hardship following the loss of her husband and her diagnosis with cancer, she suffered a serious haemorrhage that caused her to lose consciousness and be rushed to hospital.
During those few minutes in which she was unconscious, Rosemary felt as though she had left this life and passed into the next world, but before she could pass through the doors she saw, she witnessed her nurse weeping bitterly over her death — and decided to turn back. She suddenly awoke from her coma with no brain damage, despite the severe haemorrhage she had suffered.
Yet what was even harder to believe was her complete recovery from cancer: doctors found no trace of cancerous cells in her body after she regained consciousness.
