An international marine scientific expedition has discovered 31 new species of living organisms in international waters off the coast of Brazil in just two weeks, believed to be a record for the speed of discovery and classification.
The achievement was made possible through the use of highly advanced engineering and scientific technologies, most notably a cutting-edge laser microscope known as the "Squid", according to the British newspaper The Guardian.
