An artificial intelligence law firm has successfully concluded a ruling in a complex case before one of England's most important courts in favour of its client, in what is considered a precedent believed to be among the first instances in which AI has led the preparation of a lawsuit that ended with a verdict for the plaintiff.

Tamres Kemal Takedir, an independent human resources consultant, paid approximately £400 to the firm Garfield AI to prepare a legal letter and then file a lawsuit to recover an unpaid debt of £7,000, according to RT.

The firm prepared the case in its entirety ahead of the hearing, including a response to a counterclaim filed by the opposing party, who had engaged lawyers. It prepared 4 witness statements and a bundle of documents. The hearing lasted 3 hours and ended with a ruling in favour of Takedir, with the defendant ordered to pay the outstanding sum.
